“We in India have the tendency to run down our country, our people, our institutions. The conventional wisdom is that Hindutva is communal; that Manu was anti-woman and anti-Dalit; that India is over-populated; that Hindu-Muslim problem is insoluble; that globalisation is good; that computers are more important than History, et cetera, et cetera. For a change, here is an understanding and an appreciation of India, of Indians and of things Indian.
Manu was the greatest Law-giver of mankind; Hindutva is Indian nationalism; population is also power; employment is more important than GDP; with all our differences, Hindus and Muslims are blood brothers; globalization is for the most part, gobbleisation; history is the philosophy of nations; India is the beacon-light of the world.
It is not for nothing that India has survived the ravages of time and circumstance. India is unique. And INDIA FIRST is an effort at understanding why and how it is unique.”
